DOWNTON ANNUAL PARISH MEETING Monday 28 April 2025 (7:00-7:45pm) THE DOWNTON MEMORIAL CENTRE (BONVALOT ROOM) Notice issued by Cllr Jane Brentor, Chair of Downton Parish Council, on 04 April 2025 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Welcome and apologies: Cllr Jane Brentor, Chair of Downton Parish Council 2. Guest Speakers: - • Helen Roberts: “Rediscovering Australia”. Helen will be giving a short talk on her project to restore a lost chalk badge, carved into a Wiltshire hillside by Australian soldiers during the First World War. • Trafalgar School: Wellbeing Lead Students for Year 9 - Ella Strawbridge and Rupert Burwell- Lynch 3. Chairman’s Report: Cllr Jane Brentor will deliver a brief report on Downton Parish Council’s achievements in the municipal year 2024/25 4. Questions and Comments: members of the public Refreshments: Tea, coffee, squash, plus homemade cake and biscuits. Purpose of the Annual Parish Meeting The purpose of the meeting is for the Parish Council to explain what it has been doing over the last year and enables electors to have their say on anything they consider to be of importance to the people of the Parish. Who can attend the meeting? The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of all the local government electors of the Parish. It is NOT a Meeting of the Parish Council. Anyone may attend but only registered electors of Downton Parish may vote.
