Downton Parish Council has been a burial authority since 1942 when the Cemetery was opened in Barford Lane.

e and regulations for members of the public, funeral directors, and stonemasons are set out in the Burial Regulations.
The Cemetery is divided into four sections: –
1) Church of England
2) Roman Catholic
3) Non-Conformist Burials
4) Interment of Ashes
