Downton Parish Council is the first tier of Local Government, the next tier being the unitary authority of Wiltshire Council.
Downton Parish Council offers community leadership with the aim of developing Downton, Charlton All Saints, and Standlynch into a vibrant community; a place where people want to live, visit, and do business in.

- Play Equipment and Recreational Grounds at Memorial Gardens, Moot Lane, Charlton All Saints, and Wick Lane
- Public Toilets on The Borough
- Traffic calming measures e.g. Speed Implementation Devices, highways improvements through Wiltshire Council LHFIG
